Location
I see patients both in my office at 600 Wyndhurst Ave in Baltimore, as well as virtually. For telehealth appointments, I can see anyone who is in the state of Maryland at the time of the appointment.
Treatment modalities and duration
I work with patients using both psychotherapy (talk therapy) and medications. In many cases, medications are not necessary. Treatment duration varies widely by patient, depending on their condition and goals. We will work toward determining your goals and needs in treatment. Some patients choose or need to work on something more intensively with weekly or more frequent appointments. Others have a lifelong condition that is relatively stable, and we will end up meeting every few months for many years, with more frequent visits during times when the condition worsens.
Appointments
All sessions are by appointment only. Before our first appointment, we will have a short phone conversation to make sure that my practice is a good fit for you (please fill out this form if you are interested in an appointment or call 443-377-1551). The first appointment will last approximately 60-90 minutes. Follow-up appointments will typically be either 50 minutes or 25 minutes depending on the type and goals of treatment.
Insurance
I am an out-of-network provider for insurance. This means that you will pay the cost of treatment, and if desired, you can submit a claim for reimbursement to your insurance company. I will give you a receipt, or “superbill,” in order to submit your claim for reimbursement. The amount you will receive from your insurance company varies by policy. Typically, once your deductible is met, you will receive somewhere between 50-90% of the fee back. Once your out-of-pocket maximum is reached, you should be reimbursed for the entire fee. I currently am not accepting any patients with Medicare or Medicaid.
Payment
I require credit card, debit card, Zelle or ACH (electronic bank transfer) as payment. For new patients, your fee is due at time of appointment scheduling. For recurring patients, payment information will be stored and processed on the day of our appointment.
Cancellation
I require 24 hours advance notice of cancellation. No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours will be charged the fee for the session.
Emergency
Although I maintain availability to my patients, I may not be available during an emergency. If you are experiencing a life threatening crisis, it is important to call 9-1-1 or report to your closest emergency room.
